Nordson Corporation Names Maria Spangler as Director, Nordson Foundation and Community Relations
Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ: NDSN) today announced that Maria Spangler has been named director, Nordson Foundation and Community Relations, effective Dec. 2, 2024. Ms. Spangler succeeds Cecilia Render, who announced her upcoming retirement effective Dec. 31, 2024. In the overlapping time, Ms. Spangler will partner with Ms. Render to ensure a smooth transition.
Ms. Spangler brings more than 15 years of experience in program development, growth and impact measurement to the role. Since 2007, she’s held roles of increasing responsibility at Sherwin-Williams (NYSE: SHW), a $23 billion global leader in paints, coatings and related products. In her most recent role, she served as director, community engagement, leading the development and activation of a community engagement strategy to deploy high-impact and mission-aligned investments through the Sherwin-Williams Foundation, as well as building and advancing a corporate giving program.
"I am excited to welcome Maria to Nordson as the leader of our Nordson Impact philanthropy team,” said Sundaram Nagarajan, president and chief executive officer of Nordson. "Our commitment to investing in our communities remains central to who we are at Nordson, so I welcome Maria’s experience in building strong relationships with nonprofit partners, and her focus on creating opportunities to involve and engage our teams around the world.”
"I have long admired Nordson’s giving program, and Cecilia Render for the work she has done to build the reputation of Nordson Impact. Nordson’s commitment to giving truly stands out,” Ms. Spangler said. "It is beyond a dream for me to have an opportunity to be part of that effort. I look forward to partnering with Naga and the leadership team to achieve the Company’s giving objectives, and to empower all employees to make a difference in their communities.”
Mr. Nagarajan continued, "I’d like to thank Cecilia Render again for her 25 years of service at Nordson, and the incredible impact she has made within our Company and our communities. I look forward to a smooth transition and wish Cecilia well in her next chapter.”
