Edgewell Personal Care Cuts FY25 Earnings Outlook; Stock Up In Pre-market - Update
(RTTNews) - Edgewell Personal Care Co. (EPC), while reporting a loss in its first quarter, compared to prior year's profit on weak sales, revised its fiscal 2025 outlook.
In pre-market activity on the NYSE, the shares were gaining around 4.4 percent to trade at $33.00.
Further, the Board of Directors declared a cash dividend of $0.15 per common share on February 6 for the first quarter.
For the year, earnings per share are now expected to be in the range of $2.54 to $2.74, lower than previously expected range of $2.59 to $2.79.
Adjusted earnings per share are now expected to be towards the lower end of the range of $3.15 to $3.35, reflecting increased anticipated negative foreign currency changes.
Analysts on average expect the company to earn $3.18 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Organic net sales are now expected to be in the range of 1% to 3%. Currency is now expected to negatively impact reported net sales by 160-basis points, compared to previously expected 70-basis points positive.
Adjusted EBITDA is now expected to be towards the lower end of in the range of $356 to $368 million.
In the first quarter, Edgewell Personal Care's net loss was $2.1 million, compared to last year's profit of $4.8 million.
Loss per share was $0.04, compared to prior year's profit per share of $0.09.
Adjusted earnings were $3.3 million or $0.07 per share for the period. Analysts projected $0.12 per share.
Revenue dropped to $478.4 million from last year's $488.9 million.
