EQS-News: The Platform Group AG: Acquisition of construction platform We Connect Work
EQS-News: The Platform Group AG
/ Key word(s): Takeover/Mergers & Acquisitions
The Platform Group AG: Acquisition of construction platform We Connect Work Düsseldorf, 28 July 2025. The Platform Group AG (ISIN DE000A2QEFA1, “TPG”), a leading software company for platform solutions, announces today that it has acquired a majority stake in We Connect Work GmbH, based in Bad Ems. We Connect Work was founded in 2022 as a platform for the industrial and construction sectors and focuses exclusively on B2B customers (real estate companies, industrial companies, property developers, architects). Its main areas of expertise are electrical, plumbing, heating, drywall construction, and welding technology. Since its foundation in 2022, orders have been executed via the platform in Germany, Austria, and Eastern Europe. Long-term framework agreements are in place with larger real estate and industrial companies. The aim of the acquisition by The Platform Group is to further expand the existing platform and, from 2026, to add a B2B platform for building materials and products in the sanitary, heating, and electrical sectors. The existing management will remain in place and will hold a minority stake in the company. Dr. Dominik Benner, CEO of The Platform Group AG: "The acquisition of We Connect Work represents a new industry for us, one that we have been analyzing for some time. We believe that B2B platform approaches are exciting and profitable in the construction industry. Our goal is to expand the existing We Connect Work and add the product areas of building materials, heating, plumbing, and electrical systems starting in 2026. There is currently no B2B platform for these product groups, so we see great potential." Dirk Wiedenhues, Managing Director of We Connect Work: “As a successful B2B platform in the construction and trade sector, we are delighted to be working with TPG to expand our reach in the future. The expansion of the platform to include specific product groups for heating, plumbing, and electrical systems will be the first of its kind. This is an important step toward directly linking our B2B services with products,” said Dirk Wiedenhues, Managing Director. The Platform Group AG: The Platform Group AG is a software company that is active in 27 industries with its own platform solutions. Its customers include both B2B and B2C customers in sectors such as furniture retail, machinery retail, dental technology, car platforms and luxury fashion. The Group has 18 locations across Europe and is headquartered in Düsseldorf. In 2024, sales of EUR 525 million was realized with an operating result (EBITDA adjusted) of EUR 33 million.
