Wall Street Might Open Positive
(RTTNews) - The inauguration of President Donald Trump and his new policy announcements are strongly influencing the market sentiments on Tuesday.
Major corporates have scheduled their earnings this week.
In Asian trade, the dollar fell on Tuesday, while gold hit a ten-week high. Oil prices traded mixed.
Early signs from the U.S. Futures Index suggest that Wall Street might open positive.
As of 7.55 am ET, the Dow futures were up 190.00 points, the S&P 500 futures were adding 22.00 points and the Nasdaq 100 futures were 91.25 points.
The U.S. major averages remained firmly positive on Friday. The Nasdaq surged 291.91 points or 1.5 percent to 19,630.20, the S&P 500 jumped 59.32 points or 1.0 percent to 5,996.66 and the Dow climbed 334.70 points or 0.8 percent to 43,487.83.
On the economic front, the six-month Treasury bill auction will be held at 11.30 am ET.
The 52-week Treasury bill auction will be held at 1.00 pm ET.
Asian stocks ended Tuesday's session on a mixed note. China's Shanghai Composite index ended marginally lower at 3,242.62.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index jumped 0.91 percent to 20,106.55.
Japanese markets eked out modest gains. The Nikkei average edged up by 0.32 percent to 39,027.98 while the broader Topix index settled marginally higher at 2,713.50.
Australian markets rose notably. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 climbed 0.66 percent to 8,402.40 while the broader All Ordinaries index closed up 0.68 percent at 8,652.70.
European shares are trading broadly up. CAC 40 of France is progressing 8.32 points or 0.11 percent. DAX of Germany is down 16.94 points or 0.08 percent. FTSE 100 of England is declining 4.83 points or 0.06 percent. The Swiss Market Index is gaining 2.10 points or 0.02 percent.
Euro Stoxx 50 that provides a Blue-chip representation of supersector leaders in the Eurozone, is down 0.14 percent.
