Indonesia Trade Surplus Shrinks In October

(RTTNews) - Indonesia's foreign trade surplus decreased in October from a year ago as imports grew faster than exports, figures from Statistics Indonesia showed on Friday.

The trade surplus dropped to $2.47 billion in October from $3.47 billion in the same month last year. In September, the surplus was $3.23 billion.

Exports climbed 10.25 percent year-over-year in October, and imports surged by 17.49 percent.

On a monthly basis, exports showed growth of 10.64 percent, and imports jumped by 16.54 percent.

Of the ten commodities with the largest non-oil and gas export values in October 2024, most commodities experienced an increase, the agency said.
